Staff Spotlight – Account Manager Megan Bowker

Account Manager Megan Bowker started back in 2013 and has been a huge influence at Fantastic Media. Learn more about her love of Atomic Kitten, yoga and gin.. Probably not all at the same time.

What was your start date and position at Fantastic?

I started at Fantastic in August 2013 where I joined as a placement student from Huddersfield University.

 

What has been your favourite Fantastic project?

My favourite project so far would probably have to be a very recent one. A three-day photoshoot in Manchester and Delamere. While it took a lot of planning and preparation it was great to be a part of this project and even more so when we got the footage back and now start to see the project come to life from a creative point of view.

Another project that I really enjoyed was working with Fruitypot on their 20th Century Fox film partnerships for both Walking with Dinosaurs and Rio 2. It was great working with such big names in film and I even got to attend the premiere screening for Rio 2 in London.

Who has influenced your career the most and how?

My step-dad, he is living proof that if you work hard and aim high you can achieve anything. He started out at the very bottom from school, worked up to become the director of an international company he worked for and now owns and runs his own global business. The team at Fantastic are also great! I have learnt a lot from everyone here.

Greatest personal achievements?

Achieving a first class in my degree and purchasing my first home.

Best thing about your job?

I love the fact that no two days are the same, there are always new challenges and of course, it wouldn’t be the same without my fantastic colleagues.

Three things people would be surprised to know about you? 

I used to play the guitar in school, I could even play ‘Atomic Kitten – The Tide is High’

I can speak a little bit of Spanish. Hablas Español?

I am going on a trip to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Malaysia in 2018!

What do you like to do to unwind? 

I enjoying going to the yoga, the gym and drinking gin.

Personal philosophy or mantra?

No pain. No gain.

And not just in the gym. I believe that no day working in a marketing agency is just straightforward and easy, there will always be a challenge along the way somewhere whether it’s a last minute request with a tight deadline or multiple projects coming in at once, however, working to resolve these can only achieve great results.
